Open Summer Internships
Prototype a web-based UI/UX for 3D volume visualization
When oil companies drill wells they collect tens of meters of physical core samples, which are scanned in CT machines and subject to different physical measurements. Thereafter, geologists and petrophysicists co-analyse whole-core CT scans, core photos and 1D physical measurements to understand the composition and the pore structure of the rock. Kalkulo has developed a desktop tool for visualizing and managing all this data, referred to as Core Modeler. We need your help to develop a new and better version of this tool using web technologies to develop a new user interface. In this summer project two interns will collaborate to develop a minimum viable product for volume visualization of core samples.
We are looking both for hardcore front end software developers and people with strong UI/UX focus. The project contains many technical and user interface design challenges, and should be a great addition to any student portfolio.
Are you a second or third student with the right background, skills and interests? Contact Lyudmyla Vynnytska (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
The internship lasts 4-6 weeks and is paid. Exact dates to be discussed with the candidate(s).
